Brex was founded in 2017 with the launch of Brex card, a corporate charge card that offers customers instant approval and spending limits that are often significantly higher than legacy corporate card options. Brex is able to offer these advantages over legacy corporate cards due to the direct link it establishes to a customer’s bank account, providing Brex with insight into the customer’s cash balances and cash flows, and the ability to directly debit the customers’ accounts for balances due.
